Gonzaga University is set to remove their mask mandate on March 25th for indoor places. Later than most colleges, GU’s president wanted to keep the mandate for an extra week to ensure that everyone can return back to campus from spring break safely. The President is also encouraging that all students and teachers that choose not to wear a mask still carry one on their person just to be safe. There will be available masks around campus for faculty, students, and staff as well if needed. The university also wants to press that any discrimination or bullying towards students who decide to wear masks is not allowed. It is completely okay if students decide that wearing a mask is the better option for them. Similar to other colleges, masks will be required at the student health center, testing sites, and public transportation. Of course everything is also subject to change and they will be basing this off a case by case basis.
