Washington’s Governor Jay Inslee, visits Gonzaga University for a climate change dialogue and Q&A sessions between students. Inslee made sure that the students were aware that they are the future in climate change. He called the students the most intelligent, caring, and understanding generation as of now who are the most invested in climate change. Inslee then discussed some bills that were in the process of being passed to cut down energy and transfer it to clean energy and then also cut the amount of greenhouse gasses being produced in Washington. We live in a democracy, so he made sure the students knew that their voices can make an impact on the bills and all that needs to be done is to send a letter to the legislators to make their voices heard. He also said that making changes is hard, but it is necessary at this point before we reach a time where it is irreversible to fix. A current GU student, Gutirrez, said that the biggest problem is finding communication between different cultures. If a simple conversation is started, it could be the first stepping stone towards making a difference with climate change.
