The Comprehensive Leadership program and the School of Leadership Studies’ Women Lead hosted an event to open conversation on gender equality. The Unraveling Internalized Misogyny event is held to promote gender equality. One student said that the first luncheon held for this event last year had the most impact on her life and changed her outlook. This event was a little different compared to last semester and even involved clubs in the university. There was a three session workshop that discussed and focused on allyship, microaggressions, and gender-inclusive workplaces. One student says that internalized misogyny even needs to be addressed on campus after attending the second event this spring. In order to break down misogyny on campus, the students realize that it is something that will take time, but the first huge step is discussing amongst others which is exactly what this event is doing.
