In the midst of March Madness, Gonzaga University’s men basketball team loses in the Sweet Sixteen to Arkansas. The Arkansas Razorbacks kept their defense at a high throughout the game, only allowing Timme and Holmgren eight points combined for the whole game. This was alarming for longtime Zag fans. The second half of the game was at a high intensity as both teams came back from halftime. It was a back and forth with each team before the Razorbacks were able to score 13 points in six minutes with the defense being too strong for the Bulldogs. The Zags attempted to push back towards the end of the second half, but they were met with no avail. So with that the Zags journey for the 2022 March Madness comes to an end as Arkansas gets to advance to the Elite Eight. After making it to the final two last year, this was devastating for not only the fans but the players as well.
